Web Design Development Process:
The web site development process I utilize is made up of seven stages. This process is flexible.
Depending on the scope and complexity of your web site, your project may not require the utilization of all
seven stages.

Consultation: Initial consultation to discuss your web site project and ideas.
I charge a $75 flat fee for an initial consultation. This fee is applied regardless of the length of the initial
consultation meeting. My hourly fee starts when we go to the next step and I prepare a scoping plan with
cost and timeline projections for your project

Scoping: Based on an initial consultation, I define the projected costs, timeline and tasks for the web site
project in a detailed proposal in order to remain on-time and within your budget. Upon acceptance of the web site
design proposal, I then begin to design prototype templates.

HTML Design Prototype:
a) I provide you with three separate design templates, which will reflect the layout, color scheme,
graphics placement and navigational structure for the web site.
b) you approve a final design from these templates.
Please note that you are responsible for providing me with high quality, properly formatted graphics. If you wish
to provide me with hard copy pictures or graphics to scan and then manipulate, there will be an additional
charge per scanned item which is not included in my hourly rates. Written approval must be obtained to utilize
copyrighted print materials on your web site.

Full Web Site Development: I translate your final approved design into a fully developed web site, with the
final design prototype features (color, graphics, layout, navigation) incorporated across the site.
Your web site content will be added in full at this point in the development of your site.

Final Web Site Approval: You give final approval to the web site content and layout, before it is officially
launched under your domain name.

Testing: Your web site is tested to make certain it is cross-browser, cross-platform compatible.

Launch: Pending full payment for all web design services incurred for your site, your site will be uploaded to
the web server and launched officially on-line. I will upload your site to the web hosting service of your choice,
you will need to provide me with the proper access codes and correct file upload (FTP) path information for
the server. You will be responsible for monthly web hosting fees for the web hosting service of your choice,
I will be happy to assist you in making a decision about which web hosting service to utilize for
your domain name and site. Should you need to register a domain name prior to launching your site,
I can take care of domain name registration for an additional fee.

After your web site launch, you may wish to retain my services for the following:

Marketing: I can list your site with numerous, major search engines on the web to ensure maximum exposure.

On-going Maintenance: I will continue to maintain and update your site, at your request, with content and
graphics provided by you.

Rates for Web Design Services:
(all rates are hourly unless otherwise specified)
Consulting: I am available to provide consultative services to your business regarding all aspects of web site
design, development or site architecture. $75
Web Site Design: Initial consultation (flat fee) $75
Complete web site design $60
Costs not included in hourly rates:
Domain name registration fees: InterNIC fee+server set up fee: $115 Domain Name transfer fees: $45
(if you have already registered a domain name, but need to transfer it to my server or a server you specify)
Printing fees: Color prints of web pages, photographs or graphics: $10 per page
Scanning fees: by scanned item (regardless if black/white or color): $10 per item

A note about my invoicing policies:
Invoices will be sent upon completion of your web site design.
Invoices must be paid in full prior to final launch of your site on your web host.
Web sites will not be uploaded to the web host without payment in full.
Invoices for hourly consulting fees will be prepared and sent at the end of each consulting project.
For web site development projects, invoices will be prepared and sent prior to the launch of your complete
web site.
Hourly fees begin as soon as you agree to have a scoping statement prepared by me for your project, if
(for whatever reason) you decide not to complete your web site with Nichol Web Design, you will be charged for all
services rendered from the scoping phase to the point you terminate your project.
